Great Idea It,s About time someone tried to get us working together.
Some of us TRNi members wanted to let you know the benefits of joining TRNi over Aamco Tech! I believe the fact that TRNi management trusts us to represent the organization to prospective members speaks for itself. We did not single out anybody in particular, just informed the mailer and we are doing this on our own! So here goes:

I am in my middle 40's and a former shop owner with 26 years building experience. I have been a member of TRNi for almost a year and will surely renew for as long as TRNi exists! There are quite a few Aamco owners and Technicians that are contributing members as well as quite a few former Aamco employees such as myself so I am familiar with your Tech service. Sure, not all will be online at any one given time and not all will have the answer that you need, but the information that you DO get will far outweigh the few times that help is not found. Simply use Aamco tech like you do now. After a short while, you will notice that more problems are solved, and many more are PREVENTED from using TRNi than ever were with Aamco Tech. With today's modern vehicles you need all the info that you can get. Don't limit your shop to only the info supplied by Aamco, Get cutting edge info from some of the top Techs in the world! Just like any other organization, we are a mix of varying skill levels but there are at least 30 or more of the finest Technicians with the sharpest minds that I have ever seen!

But this is more than just a tech service, it also offers management advice from other shop owners with many years of experience in the business. You can discuss your management questions or problems in an open forum with others in your same shoes. Not some suit and tie in an office that does not even have an idea of how the transmission business functions .... I'm talking real world advise!

There are representatives/engineers from companies such as Sonnax, Rostra, Freudenberg-NOK/Transtec, SPX -Seal Power/ Toledo, Life Products, Borg Warner and even parts suppliers such as ATC, Delta and more. This list is not complete either, just what I can think of offhand. I sincerely hope that you will give us a try and I am sure that you will like what you see. I personally think that this will be the best investment that you have made in many years. Hi:

Ask your Aamco "Free" tech, what the difference in temperature is with a run separate Tru-Cool transmission cooler is between the largest and smallest cooler available.

Now ask them how to get rid of the downshift clunk in any AXOD or E. Now ask them what lubricant, not ATF, will give you a 155F flash point cushion. If they give you answers, then you don't need us.

Now we are over 900 strong and we do expect you to contribute information also. None of us are paid, we just love transmissions. We also need your expertise and we expect you to give it. We are technicians first, not businessmen. I own my own business and I could care less about the money. I want to fix the transmission and more importantly, I want to fix the CAUSE of the problem. If you are only interested in replacing parts then this is not the place for you. If you are not interested in helping your brothers, then this is not the place for you. By the way, in NY, $60.00 is a tip. If you are interested in building a "killer" transmission, then there are 900 sweating, dirt on their face technicians ready to help you out of any hole that you have dug for yourself. If you have a vehicle that you cannot ship, then this is the place to be.

If you never have any problem trannys or any unanswered questions, you don't need TRNi.

If you knew how to eliminate code 1870 on 95-6 Gm's before your tech service knew, you don't need TRNi. If you were aware of the sticking bleed orifice on 97-8 GM's before your tech service, you don't need TRNi. If you never have to wonder if the bad convertor you called about is just you and not everybody else getting them, you don't need TRNi. Now if all these apply to you, you don't need TRNi. In this case let me pay your dues cauz TRNi needs you! Hope ta see ya online soon.

I just wanted to post and say thanks for TRNi. It is very informative. TRNi has been my best resource for information this last year. I don't say that lightly, as this last year I have been to ATSG and ATRA seminars, purchased Mitchell On Demand for Transmissions, Mitchell On Demand (the full blown program), read every word of Gears, Transmission Digest, Tech Talk, and all of the ATSG bulletins. But TRNi is #1! I just keep picking up tips and tricks that I didn't know. The concept is 'there is power in numbers'. I realize that you never can get enough knowledge being in the transmission industry. Also there is a great urgency in learning the tips-fixes, so TRNi really fits the bill there. Keep up the good work.

I sure am glad I posted this problem, I would never have Guessed sealing rings on the 1-2 acc. piston, sure hope its the fix. I never even got around to pulling the unit yet. will be checking my mail Mon. night to see if your 4eat is cured. Thanks for all the responses. I cant Tell you how much I respect this site....

Thanks to all that helped out on the Toyota A140E that we have in our shop. The problem was the wires going to the solenoids were backwards somehow. We cut two wires and crossed them and taped back together and my Headache was gone, because it works correct!!!

Once again we at Pineora Transmission all thank you and we will help all Others that need tech support. I sure am glad to be here with you all.

You were right on. The tube has a hole in it across the bottom side. So from now on when I get one in with that problem the first thing I will check will be the hose that connects the throttle body to the air flow meter. Never would have figured this one out. Since it just came from a General repair shop, I would not think they would over look something like that on one that old. I'll never forget this one.

I think this trani net is the best thing I have ever seen. I really like it when I post a problem and everyone don't try to shot gun it. If the answer is really long and drawn out I tend to forget or over look part of it. However, I do understand that sometimes we name off all the things we can think of that could cause the problem? But when it is one we have seen before it is a great help for someone to zero in on it. But that doesn't mean to say all the post should be short. Sometimes it is good to see one of you take the time to explain how something works that you have been doing for a long time. I get lots of ideas just reading everyone's input.

I most usually try to give an answer that I relate to and stick to one thing. I have in the past ask other builders about a problem I had and They would try to dazzle me with brilliance and end up baffling me with Bs.

So a great big thanks to all you guys.

F4AEL with 2-3 flare & 3-4 flare up. I just joined transbuilder last Week and have already used the network for a fix!!!!!!Thank you money man for the tip on using the C-4 check ball in the bypass valve. car running fine. Before joining transbuilder.com, I was going to sign up with another program costing 10 times more money and you didn't get to speak to actual builder with hands on experience. All I can say is, so Far this program is better then Skippy peanut butter!!!!!

I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much less stressful my job is these days. Before, I'd tear out handfuls of my remaining hair trying to outguess these mechanical 'marvels'.

Now, I just sit back, listen to the symptoms, check the tech bulletins and builder tips, and if all else fails, post it on the net, knowing I'll get at least a couple of good ideas. Being a one-person operation is rough enough without the isolation factor. Your network is a sanity-saver. Regards,

Hello everybody,I feel like a bone head telling you that the problem with the trans was something I did wrong and I definitly know better, but here we go any ways, the problem turned out to be the 2-4 accumulater was in backwards. I guess I feel asleep at the wheel to make such a bone head of a mistake.Any ways there's the fix.

Thanks to all who gave me suggestions on what might be the problem,this is truely a great network with some very intelligent people participating.

thank you for printing that fix i print them and post on cork board they inital that they had read then they go in file. trni is making us money.hope we can help you in the near future. we learn from our mistakes.because the same ones that happen to you happen here also.this is working for us .we all make mistakes. love it when employe will admit what you already know.they are team players. there is no I in team.i post no matter what it was. thank you again

Electronics is like a foreign language. If you live in that language long enough it will get easier. TRNi lets you live in that language as you share in the diagnosis of other shops problems and follow through to the fix. Just another benefit.

I must say that since being with TRNi my whole approach to diagnosing and solving problems has become easier and with much better results,I have to stop my R/R guys from pulling boxes which they think have terminal problems,and show them a pressure guage and oil circuits,it takes a lot of the mystery out of the way things operate. Anyway thats my 2 bobs worth.
